I have two happy places: being in the woods with my dog and sitting at home while my dog snores gently beside me. And when I am not in those happy places, I am thinking about being in those happy places.
I want to send you a picture of Tosha right now, laying at my feet in the sun on the couch and how I'm afraid to move because I don't want to disturb her comfort. This is a daily occurrence. Multiple times a day.
What a sweetie. I always explain things to Apollo. I’ve never had to pretend to leave. The thought of someone actually abandoning their pooch always tears me apart. I chuckled at Dezi booking it to the car when you said, Bye. Just like a little human. 🥰🥰
Oh, it's not just me? Although a good deal of my out-loud narration is to attempt letting the boys know they don't HAVE to get up because I'm just getting ____ from the other room and I will be RIGHT BACK, though of course they don't listen and follow me anyway.
Talk to your dog in public, and no one bats an eye. Talk to the nature fairy dancing on some unsuspecting Muggle's head at the park once, and everyone loses their minds.
Awwww. This is how dogs keep us sane, or at least apparently so. Because if we talked to ourselves out loud that much, we'd be gently guided into an institution :-)
Typical ? Marginally 🤣. Alvin my English black male lab (I emphasize male because he’s alll boy ! Please not offending girls. I’m drawn to male black labs and had Bear 160 newf. Alvin will be 12 June first. He’s slowly becoming “slow 😘” Our walks in morn we sing. Or I do. He’s quick to do his “biz” 7am breakfast is more urgent than The Beach Boys. God only knows this morn. He is my shepherd. I’m a sheep.
I do the same thing. Mine are: "I've gotta pee first" - which now means go get a toy and bring it to me on the throne. When I don't feel like making his food I say "here's a snack, I'll make your food later" - and I put some Ziwi Peak dog food in his snuffle mat. We play "kick in the kitchen" while I do the dishes and load the dishwasher-he puts his ball just outside the kitchen and I kick it down the hall. I tell him "I love the shit out of you!" and we cuddle. I'm sure there are more, but these are the ones right off the top of my head.
On dog walks, I love to say, over and over, “Good girl, Chica.” The song used to be “Good boy, Casey.” I’m not in the habit of tellng humans how good they are. Most humans could stand to improve, and I have lots of helpful suggestions.

Hahaha I think we might be soul sisters 😁

I'm the same!! I never want to move when Dezi is peaceful and comfy ❤️❤️❤️
Ha, totally the same in my house 😛🐾
Yes. Your's is no different a day than mine. Just don't tell my kids! (Actually, they would be the first to say I love them more!)

Close. I also have cats. There's a lot of 'OK you guys...' conversations going on.
LOL I can totally picture that. 😁

LOL they ALWAYS follow!!

Hahahah SO true!! Having a dog lets me be weird with an excuse.
Yep!
Stands to reason. Dezi is your best mate, you companion, your emotional supporter and your biggest fan.
This is 100% a standard day for a dog person. And that was funny when we both had to reschedule our dog day to do the live video haha

Hahahaa totally! Also, when you live alone with just a dog, who else are you going to run things by??
Fabulous post! Thanks for making me laugh this morning.
Laughing first thing on a Monday should be everyone's goal 😁😁
Thanks for reading!

Awwww I remember the slowdown of my last dog, Mojo. Their aging sure reminds us to be mindful, doesn't it?
Yes. Passage of our and their time. All tooo fleeting.

Lol!!! I feel so validated 😁😁 Why do we feel the need to tell them we're going pee? 🤣

Wouldn't it be nice if humans WERE in the habit of telling each other we're good? But yeah, first they actually have to BE good.
